Sunday Scoop {8.30.15}

The Sunday Scoop is based on the popular 3-2-1 graphic organizers so many of us use with our students. Tell us three things you HAVE to do, two things you HOPE to do, and one thing you're HAPPY to do. If this is your first time linking up, check out all the details on our Sunday Scoop page, then link up below!

Here's the Scoop on my week...
Must Do:
EEEK! We go back to school on Tuesday. I have the general idea of what I am doing each day, but my schedule just changed... so now I need to figure it out for sure.

With Frankie (our pug) all healed up, he got his stitches out a few days ago. They wanted us to wait 2-4 days before bathing... well... time is up! This stinky dog needs a bath!

Laundry. The most dreaded thing every single week. I tell myself that one week I will do the laundry a little at a time rather than leaving it all for one day... but it never happens!

Hope to Do:
Our elementary school is considered a focus school. Basically, we (our district) will be writing practice profiles for the next 3 years to hopefully close the achievement gap. At the end of last year, we achieved 80% success rate with our first practice profile which focused on learning targets. Our district just announced our next practice profile: interactive notebooks. We are diving head in by choosing one subject as a grade level. My fourth grade team decided to focus on Math since we already do a variation for reading with our series. So, I have been super busy creating an interactive notebook to use as a guide throughout the year. Here goes nothing!

Let's face it. We all get teacher tired in the first week of school. I am going to try super hard to get a little extra sleep tonight and tomorrow night before school on Tuesday!

Happy to Do:
Yep. Time to relax!!!

  1. We were a focus school, too. We lost that status this year, thankfully. I don't know if it was so much because of our test scores or changes in the rules. Have a great day of relaxing. We start in one more week and I am pretty frantic just now. Thanks for the linky, too. There were some things I really wanted to share. See you around! Kathleen Kidpeople Classroom

  2. If you can bank some extra sleep, you will certainly be a happier teacher! I hope your back to school adventure is a marvelous one. Like you, I've used an interactive notebook for reading, but not so much for math. I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

  3. Enjoy these last few days of summer! We go back Tuesday as well. Your practice profiles sound interesting. We are a district in need of improvement too and are always looking at closing that gap!
