Here's my tip:
I always wondered if parents even read all of the information we send home in our first day letters. My gut feeling is that parents are just like us, and when they are faced with a page filled with words (and it's not a good book), they'd rather not take the time to read it.
Enter the Back to School/Parent Night/Meet the Teacher Flipbook - bright and colorful, half-page sized, and much more visually appealing to parents than a full page typed letter!
The real tip today is how to assemble these so that they look neat and are lined up perfectly (without losing your mind in the process!) It's actually pretty simple:
1 - Cut the excess paper off of the bottom of each page (only cut horizontally for now, not vertically).
2 - Line up the pages at the top and staple once in each corner. (No staples in the middle yet.)
3 - Use a paper cutter to cut from the top of the flipbook to the bottom (trust me, it's easier that way).
4 - Add a staple on the opposite corner of each flipbook, and you're good to go!
