Pencils. I would give anything to not have to deal with them! What's the one thing you wish you could get rid of in your classroom? (Or if you have any great pencil management tricks, please share!)

  1. Grading papers...or the "is this for a grade comment"
I buy golf pencils, so my students bring their own.

  2. Having to deal with pencil sharpening would be my big thing I wish I could get rid of. I don't know if you are having problems with students not having pencils or sharpening or what, but for my kids that always lose pencils I found a great idea on TPT called Winning the Pencil War. I adapted it for my class and it has worked fabulously! I never hear "I don't have a pencil."

  3. I also use "Winning the Pencil War". It's amazing! I would like to get rid of bathroom breaks! I had two students today telling another student to stick his hand in the urinal! Arrrgghhh. Are you kidding? Ick.

  4. For me it is using the bathroom. I teach Kinder so I usually let anyone go that asks, I don't want accidents...lol. However, it almost always turns into a chain reaction and then half the class magically has to go. Catch 22.

  5. I also use Winning the Pencil War! I teach 1st grade and at the beginning of the year, I start by only putting in 4 pencils, but now that we are starting to write more I will put in 8 pencils. I NEVER, EVER sharpen a pencil all week!!
