What I'm wearing is usually Stitch Fix!

I'm loving Jivey's What I'm Wearing Wednesday, mostly because I get to see everyone else's Stitch Fix and Jane scores! Someone asked a couple of weeks ago when I would be doing another Stitch Fix post, so here it is!

My latest Stitch Fix arrived just in time for Vegas...the day before I left, actually.

If you haven't heard of Stitch Fix, it is basically a personal shopping service. Once a month (or whenever you request it) they send you a box of 5 items based on a "style profile" that you complete with your style preferences, price range, etc. You can even link a Pinterest board for inspiration! You can read more about how it works here. 

Unfortunately, I don't have "real" item names for you this time. My fix arrived, and I left the next day for Vegas. Well, apparently my husband threw out the paperwork that came in my box while I was away, and your account doesn't show the names of things once you've reviewed them and paid :(

Dory Braid Detailed Striped Tank - Loved the top. It is incredibly soft and a great style for teaching. Sadly, the blush color really washes me out. Never fear, though, I emailed Stitch Fix, and this top also comes in a turquoise color, which will likely look much better on me. Assuming they can find it in my size, it should be in my next Fix! PS - I learned that you can make specific requests anytime...just put them in your note to your stylist! Verdict: returned this one, but hoping to see it in turquoise next month!

Skinny Cargo Pants - The pants were at an odd length on me...too short to be considered ankle length, too long to be capris. High-waters is the only way I can describe it! As you can see, I tried, unsuccessfully, rolling them up to see if that would help. It's too bad, because they were super comfy, and a perfect fit in the waist/hips. Verdict: returned. 

This is the softest shirt ever! (Except for maybe the tank above) Plus, it's two of my favorite colors...navy & turquoise...Verdict: keep!

I liked the color on this top, but I am just not a big fan of tassels. Partly because I know my little man will just tug at them and untie the bow. Plus, it's very similar in color to the other white/blue shirt that I liked better. Verdict: returned.

I wasn't initially sold on this one, mainly because it's blazing hot here right now, and this wasn't sleeveless! I do really like the pink bird print on it, though, and my husband reminded me that I'm always cold! Verdict: keep. Actually, I've already worn it...on the plane on the way home from Vegas with some leggings. I was super comfy traveling all day, and stayed warm on the plane, where I usually freeze!

That's it for this Fix...I can't wait to get my next one and see if they found my turquoise top!

Stitch Fix #3!

This past Wednesday was a long day. It started with my little man waking up at about 3am, and me not being able to fall back asleep. Then, I spilled my huge cup of iced tea everywhere. There's more, but let's just say that it didn't really get any better from there. Anyway...it was the perfect day to come home to this on my doorstep:

In case you aren't familiar with Stitch Fix, it's a personal shopping service that sends you 5 items every month (or less often if you want). There is a $20 styling fee for each Fix that they send, but if you buy anything from your box, it becomes a credit, so essentially, it's free! Also, if you purchase all five items, you get 25% off - a feature I've been taking advantage of lately! You can read more details about Stitch Fix in the post I wrote about my first Fix.

Here's what was in my Fix #3:

Jordanne A-Line Skirt - This is a great basic black skirt for work, and the fabric feels really nice. Perfect length for teaching, and amazingly enough, I don't currently own a solid black skirt. Verdict: Keep!

Jaclynn 3/4 Sleeve Button-up Cardigan - I love the raspberry color of this cardigan, and at $38, it was a great price for a staple piece. Verdict: Keep!

Travers Short Sleeved Striped Knit Shirt - At first,  I wasn't particularly excited about this one, but I really do like it with the cardigan. Plus, it was only $28. Verdict: Keep!

Somerville Tribal Print Short Sleeve Top - I love that this is so loose and flowy. Perfect for spring weather! Although I'm not always a fan of tribal print styles, this one feels a little more geometric to me, and I do like it. Orange isn't my favorite color either, but it works on this shirt. (I like that Stitch Fix is making me branch out a little!) Verdict: Keep!

Emi Marled Knit Short-Sleeved Top - This one was just okay. I think it will look much better with dark pants instead of white, and maybe a black cardigan or jacket. It just kind of looks washed out here. Since I'm keeping everything else, it's actually $8 cheaper to keep this one and get the 25% off. Verdict: Meh.

I realized when I started writing this post that I never shared my second Fix with you, so here's a quick recap:

Going clockwise...
Kensi Skinny Jeans - LOVE! They feel amazing on, and are a nice navy color, rather than a dark denim color. One of my favorites so far!
Sheer Geometric Print 3/4 Sleeve Top - LOVE the green and blue print! Nice and breezy for spring!
Colorblock Top - Not a huge fan of the cream being at the top, but I love everything else about it.
Navy & Orange Geometric Print Tank - this was another "It's cheaper to keep it all, so...ok" item for me. I don't like the way it looks at the top at all, but under a sweater, it's actually really cute. I'll never wear it alone though!
Corrina Striped Dolman Top - LOVE! Super comfy!

Tried it Tuesday - Stitch Fix!

I tried something new this past week, and I am SO excited about it! Disclaimer up front: This post is not going to have a thing to do with teaching (aside from the fact that we all need work clothes!).

I keep seeing everyone else's blog and Facebook posts about their Stitch Fix boxes arriving, and I finally decided to give it a try! Where I live, our shopping options are rather sparse. Although I live an hour outside of Nashville, where there's great shopping, I never have time to make a trip down there.

Enter Stitch Fix.

For those of you who aren't familiar, Stitch Fix is a subscription service, like BirchBox, Ipsy, and others, but for clothes. Here's how it works:

• Create your Style Profile, a relatively short, but thorough, survey about your style preferences, size, and amounts you usually spend on different clothing items. 
• Select from their available shipping dates.
• Your stylist uses your style profile to select 5 items to send you.
• Receive your box, and try everything on at home. This way you can get feedback from your spouse or friends, and try things on with clothes and accessories you already own.
• Keep what you want, send back what you don't - in a prepaid USPS envelope (couldn't be easier!)
• Hop online, tell your stylist what you thought about everything, and pay for the things you kept.

You can sign up for automatic monthly shipments or just one shipment at a time, which I loved. There is a $20 styling fee that you pay before they ship your box, but if you keep anything, it counts as a credit towards your purchase. And if you keep everything, you get 25% off!

Claudia Banded Dolman Sleeve Top - This fit really well, but I wasn't sure about the color on me. Fortunately, I tried it on again after my hair appointment. Now that my hair color is just a little darker, I love this color! It was a little more than I usually spend on a knit top, but I'm keeping it! Bonus - they are made in the USA!

Carter Skinny Ankle-Length Jeans - I loved how soft these are and the color, but they just didn't fit :( They went back. These were made in the USA too, and I have to say, I'm loving that Stitch Fix sent me items made here!

Gardiner Floral Dot Print Henley Blouse - Another home run. This shirt is super soft and pretty. I also loved that the sleeves can be worn down or rolled up with an attached loop to hold them in place. The stitching and buttons on this shirt are noticeably high-quality.

Clarita Airy Knit Hi-Lo Sweater - I loved the cheerful color of this sweater right out of the box. I was a little town on the length in the back, but ultimately found it just needed a pair of super skinny pants to look great. This is another keeper. Bonus - I wore it to school last week, and got compliments from a handful of people (including discriminating 5th grade girls!).

Garvey Tribal Print Open Front Cardigan - I was dead set on sending this one back when I first looked at it. But...my friend and my husband both really liked it, so I tried it on a couple more times. Ultimately, I decided to keep it. I'm trying to branch out in my wardrobe anyway. I wore it yesterday, and really like it. I just need to get the right shirt to wear underneath.

My FAVORITE part: They include these awesome styling cards to help you figure out how to wear each piece! Plus, my stylist included a personal note with some tips and reasons she chose certain pieces. I'm aleady signed up for my March Stitch Fix, and I can't wait!
